Work at home Job Pitfalls

by Alexa Panne

Watch out for work at home spam. A LEGITIMATE work at home job offer will NEVER come to you in a spam.

Work at home Job Spams

#1. The work at home carrot and the stick spam...

“Your application or resume has been selected for a Work At Home Interview with our company. Please confirm click here. Thanks! Debbie”

Of course the link goes to a website that wants to sell you a directory.

#2 This tricky work at home job email that tricks you into believing you’ve just been hired for a work at home job you applied for previously:

“Per our conversation here are the details of your offer of employment. Please visit our website at We’reGoingToRipYouOff.com for full details on how to get started.

Thank you and welcome aboard.

Debbie Lewis”

#3 This work at home spam that tries to trick you into believing they’re replying to YOUR email…

“If you had trouble joining, the correct address is support@workathomeripoffdomain.com

We are not sure why payments@workathomeripooffdomain.com was not working with PayPal.

$5 is amazingly low. I actually have one of these jobs myself and my first paycheck was $297. My last was only $94, but I only worked 2 days. It is an at home call processing job. I take calls when I want. I just log in and get paid 17 to 25 cents a minute. No selling...I just take orders for things off of the television.

Good luck!

And of course, almost all spam contains the statement: This a not a spam!

Most also invite you to click on a link to unsubscribe, but don’t do it! Web security pros say that clicking on the link will only confirm for these spam mongers that your email address is valid and you’ll get even more spam as a result of “unsubscribing”.

Millions of people work at home (4.3 million according to the 2000 census) and the work at home model is here to stay. Good, honest companies are involved in work at home as well as the thousands of scams.

A legitimate work at home company will NEVER spam you.

NEVER believe work at home spams.
