Work at home jobs are hard to come by, right? You have a PC and you want to work at home. You've sent out so many emails you've become darn good at "data entry", right? So when somebody offers you a work at home opportunity you really feel like grabbing it with both hands. Or should I say you feel like grabbing it with a pen in one hand and a checkbook in your other hand.

Think again!

Work at home opportunities are not as easy to find as non-work-at-home-jobs, that's true. But that's not a good reason to jump at the first work at home scam that finds you. Hold out for a REAL work at home job.  They're out there! But unfortunately, some people want to work at home so badly they fall for these common work at home schemes and leave their common sense somewhere along the way.

The work at home scams once promised they'd pay you several dollars for every envelope you stuffed. No strings attached. With the advent of PC computers and the internet and the fact that virtually everyone on the planet feels qualified to do data entry work at home, the work at home scam of the nineties and beyond became the "Work at home doing Data Entry" Scam. In these ads the companies promise that, like the envelope stuffing scam, if you pay a registration fee or pay for a special disk they send you, you can make a fantastic income doing data entry from home.

Here's the catch: Your new data entry work at home job may be placing ads all over the internet for the same data entry job you just paid for (that's the data entry part). If and when someone responds to the ad and pays the same fee you paid, you will, supposedly, get paid a commission on the sale.

Not exactly the type of data entry work at home job you were expecting, right?
